Sample a range of fragrances. Give the fragrance time. Don’t make a split-second decision based on a quick spritz of scent. Your first encounter with a fragrance reveals only the scent’s top note. Allow the fragrance several hours to develop, unfold and reveal its heart notes—about 20-60 minutes later—and redolent base notes several hours later.
Remember, “less is more.” Refrain from sampling too many scents at once. Expert perfume professionals—known in the fragrance world as “Noses”—recommend that you test no more than three scents at a time.
Discover Different Forms of Fragrance
